Scholastic's Reading
for the
World Record
Last summer students from Ocean Bay Middle School participated in Scholastic's Reading for the World Record. We placed in the top 1% of all the schools that participated (4,193). The students read 231,349 that were logged at the Scholastic website placing us at #46 overall, #1 in South Carolina, and #3 in all Middle Schools that participated. Our goal for this summer is to place in the top 20 and have our school's name appear in the
Scholastic Book of World Records!

EARLY DISMISSALS
In an effort to cut down on class interruptions and missed instruction time for your child and others, we ask that you do not pick your child up between 2:45 p.m. and 3:25 p.m; unless PRIOR arrangements have been made. Also note, attendance is taken by period at the middle school level and your child will be marked absent for the periods missed. No more than 10 unexcused absences are allowed in each period for the year.
